Speakers

Karen Cox, ProviDRs Care has worked in the health insurance industry for 35 years, specializing in benefits consulting, self-insurance and risk management. Karen previously worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and IMA of Kansas before becoming chief operating officer for WPPA ProviDRs Care. ProviDRs Care is a Preferred Provider Organization serving Kansas and working in partnership with insurance agents, brokers, payers, employers, providers and health facilities to deliver cost-effective services.

Shawn Lanter, R.E. Moulton is a sales representative out of the Kansas City office and has worked previously for Great West Life, Optum Health and Unimerica selling stop loss, life, disability and dental insurance products. R.E. Moulton, Inc., a OneAmerica® company, is a recognized leader in the medical stop loss insurance industry and offers comprehensive medical stop loss insurance products to brokers and third party administrators nationwide.

Steven P. Smith is a member of the Hinkle Law Firm LLC in Wichita, practicing principally in the area of employee benefits. Prior to joining the Hinkle Law Firm in 1998, he served as a research attorney at the Kansas Court of Appeals for two years and as in-house counsel for Thorn Americas, Inc. for seven years. Steven is a contributing author to the book "Group Health Plans: Federal Mandates Other than COBRA and HIPAA" published by the Employee Benefits Institute of America.
